Puducherry – a serene coastal city

S. Krishnan Chennai Puducherry with its French Quarter and mustard-colored colonial villas, chic boutiques and seaside promenade is a personal favourite of mine along the Bay of Bengal.

Pondy, as Puducherry is fondly called, is blessed with a pleasant mix of Indian and French influences. Right from the architecture of its heritage buildings to its art and crafts, one gets to explore the French aesthetics and rich Tamil traditions.
